Which conversion package is right for me?
The number of tapes and disks you want to be converted will determine which package is right for your needs. The packages are similar and reflect a bulk discount rate depending on the number of tapes and disks you want converted.
I want my tapes and disks digitized, but I'm not sure what types they are. Is this okay?
Yes! Please describe the types of tapes and disks you want converted by name, i.e., VHS, MiniDV, Hi8, in our Contact Form.
If you are unsure what media types you have, or want to ensure Flex Media can convert them, feel free to take some pictures of your tapes, disks, and accompanying equipment.
Mention your request for us to identify your media types in the Contact Form and share your pictures to our email at:
How will I receive my converted media?
You will receive a flash drive containing digital files of your converted videos from your tapes and disks.
If you elect for additional copies of your videos, we will return the specified number of flash drives from the contact form to you containing copies of your files on each flash drive.
Flash drives are the most convenient way for us to return your converted videos. Flash drives are small, accessible from your computer and TV, and are easy to transport.
We recommend saving your digital files in multiple places for maximizing the safety of your media. For example, multiple flash drives with copies of your video files.
How do I play and share my converted videos?
When you receive your flash drive containing your converted media files, simply plug the flash drive into your computer or TV. You will navigate to the flash drive on your computer through the Finder, Files, or File Explorer to view your videos. To play them, select the video file and open it in a video player such as QuickTime Player or another video player.
You can also copy & paste your files anywhere they can be shared or uploaded. This includes, but is not limited to: iCloud Drive, Apple Photos, Google Drive, Google Photos, Social Media websites, messages, etc.
How long does the conversion process take?
In general, the time it takes to convert your videos depends on the number of tapes and disks you have for us to digitize. We don't want to rush with this precise process. We want to take the time that is necessary to ensure the successful conversion of your videos.
We can give you an update on the conversion progress at your request by sending us an email:
If I send a video tape or disk that is non-functional or blank, will I be charged?
In the event of a tape or disk not containing any convertible media, or if a tape is blank or corrupted, the unconverted tape or disk will be excepted from the package, and you will not be charged. You will keep the conversion package you selected; we will make sure pricing is true to what digitized media we provide and return to you.
